Herodotus
Pro
Pro add-on for Herodotus — On This Day
Three new layouts, events that arrive before their day, cited sources and mapped locations, and a CSV importer for the archive you already keep in a spreadsheet.
A daily post that writes half of itself, with the citation already attached.
Import the curriculum calendar from a spreadsheet and put the timeline on the front page.
Countdowns to the centenary, announced weeks before the date itself.
Premieres, first nights and birthdays, sorted by priority and category.
Two, three or four columns of event cards.
One row of cards that scrolls sideways.
A vertical line with the date on it and cards on both sides.
Upcoming events
Show an event ahead of the date it belongs to. Each one is opted in with a checkbox, the range is set in days or up to a fixed date, and its card counts down instead of counting the years back.
Event data
A source carries a name and a link, with a nofollow option and a machine-readable citation for search engines. A location carries a place and coordinates, looked up in the editor and published as structured data.
Scholarly enough for a museum, simple enough for a blog.
Import and export
CSV import with a preview, duplicate detection and a progress bar. Settings and events export and import as JSON, so a staging site and a live site can hold the same archive.
With category exclusion, so one feed can leave another's events out.
Pin the anniversary that matters to the top of the day.
Show one chosen day, or a window either side of today.
Read the day's events from an app, a screen or another site.
Pro is an add-on. The free Herodotus — On This Day plugin must be installed and active; Pro adds to it and never replaces it.

One licence, one site. While the licence is active you get updates and support; when it expires the plugin stays installed and the site behaves as if only the free plugin were present.
